  1. I'm a big fan of the DNZ scopes rings. Cut from solid block of aluminum and damn rear bullet proof. One time I slipped rock, the rifle and I hit the ground hard. I worried the scope might have been knocked off so tested. There was no difference with scope remaining dead on. Here's a link to MidwayUSA for the product:

I like "low" rings for best accuracy keeping your head anchored to stock and in line with barrel. Note that the Howa 1500 rings are the SAME as Weatherby. Howa makes the Vanguard line of rifles for Weatherby.

  2. WOW so please iam not trying to be argument I've here, but you feel aluminum rings are solid enough to hold up under recoil of a .300 Weatherby?I have tried some aluminum r1"rings in the past on my .279 winchester and they slipped and di not hold.si for me 300 "Bee" I've used some Leoupold 1."medium rings for the last 25 plus yet so with no issues but i am open to trying some good qaulity aluminum rings

  4. Hi Rudy - Had to reply to your comment. Been a while since I've updated my blogs but when I saw your comment I had to reply to your question with the answer NO. I had good experience with the DNZ mount with lower calibers, but after trying many reload recipes attempting to correct accuracy issues I came to the conclusion that the rings were the problem for reasons you mention. Found that good old steel from Leupold solved the problem. Lesson learned!
